We are planning on purchasing an mp3 player for our daughter for Christmas and the nano was at the top of our list until we found out the batteries for replacement are as expensive as the nano itself. Is this true? Which brand would be a better buy and has a less expensive battery for replacement?

iPods are, in my opinion, overrated, i had one and it continually broke. I have since switched to a Creative player and i believe they are the way to go, they are more reliable, more compatible with online download stores (except, of course, the iTunes music store). I think they look just as good as ipods and include much more functionality, for example, my Zen Sleek Photo has an FM radio, a microphone, the ability to record from the radio, and a better battery life than an iPod. Overall, go for any one of Creatives players
