they just updated itunes and i saw that i now have a ringtones option for my ipod touch 4th gen. I even got some awesome ringtones to go on it. But i have no idea when those ringtones will be in use. Can people call me on my ipod now?? What is the purpose of this update?

I am getting a new phone soon, and I want to know how to get music on it. I have an iTunes account for my iPod, and I am getting either a LG Cosmos Touch, or a Samsung Intensity 2. I can’t decide. But would I just hook it up to my iTunes account? I have a LG Env3 and I don’t know how to get music on that either. But what about ringtones?

I just bought the iPhone 4s this morning and I am trying to put my custom ringtones from my Droid. The ringtones are in mp3 format. The stock ringtones just are not doing it for me and I would prefer if there was a free way. Also I am running Windows 7 so please don’t give me instructions for Mac. My made in China CD players keep breaking. I want a good mp3 player to play music in a room. I see some options online but some look like they might be intended more as handheld devices than as music players in a room that are plugged in.
